debrah block krol learned to sew at the age of 4 and has been at it ever since.  She earned her BA in Fine Arts from Rutgers University, and has been lucky enough to work in art related jobs for most of her adult life.  In the late 1980's she designed and handknit sweaters for adults and children sold them in specialty stores and in the Gayle Willson Gallery in Southampton, N.Y.  These sweaters were the inspiration for her handknit pillows.  A gift of a small piece of vintage barkcloth was the beginning of her fascination with the fabrics from the mid-century design boom.  Along with her proficiency in needle arts,  notably in knitting as well as embroidery, debrah is a painter in both oils and acrylics, and enjoys learning new ways of creating art all the time.
